I’m happy with the purchase. On-line ordering was easy, Katleeya and Sappho of the RYSE team quickly answered my questions about orders from Canada, delivery was fast via Canada Post, and instillation easy because of the detailed steps shown on the RYSE website. Even getting Bluetooth to work on our devices was possible. And yes, the shades work as expected.
Great product. Installing on a continuous metal chain is very easy, but installing on a joined plastic chain is very difficult, however my professional contractor eventually managed to achieve a good result. Highly recommended
Great experience. Buy, separately, a Ball Chain Splicing Joining Tool so you can remove the connection in your chain or previous stopper for open close positions
I have a corner that’s hard to access so I bought these. It’s very nice to not spend the time yanking on the bead chain, and they hurt my hands. The app is annoying because often it doesn’t connect right away so I have to wait and try again. I also kept having an issue and after just replacing the parts a few times, was recommended to call someone to figure out what was causing the actual problem. Turns out the connector they send and say you must use doesn’t fit in the sprocket with heavy blinds. It runs over the teeth causing my chain to continually stretch out. So I had to replace my chain which also caused damage in my rental. It’s a little disappointing that a part they say you must use caused such a big problem for me. But we got it figured out with a splicing tool and now they work great.
My blinds are pretty large (9' tall) and heavy. I am impressed that the Ryse blind motors do the job pretty well, however a little slowly. The Smart Bridge was super easy to connect, and all the blinds were easy to name, group, and control with the app. Installation was not as simple as the videos make it look. I had to change the sprockets in the lifters to fit the beads on my blinds, which took some time. I also had to replace the bead connectors. My only disappointment with those is that they are noisy when the joiner bead goes through the mechanism. I have not yet had success adding the bridge to my Apple HomeKit, but will keep working on that. The app, however, works perfectly! If all keeps working as it is now, I will remain very happy with my purchase!
We recently added the Smartbridge to our Ryse system and it works great. We live in Southern California and can now adjust two of our two blinds to lower as the hot afternoon sun hits our house. The blinds then go up as the sun sets and it is all hands free. We will be adding more SmartShades to our other windows in the near future and they can all be controlled by the Smartbridge.
GREAT SYSTEM!!!
It’s not the cheapest, but it’s paid for itself in convenience and more. My home feels like a luxury hotel, and once the setup is done and blind heights are calibrated, it’s a breeze. Super impressed with the high battery life on the wire free version, and now I’ve set it up with my Google home for voice automation and routines.
For the most part I'm quite happy with this! I never used to open my shades wide open since it’d be a pain in the butt to constantly be opening and closing them but now I do it every day.
I was a bit surprised to either have to drill holes or contact support for a tape-based solution. I wish the tape-based solution were included (I wound up just drilling the holes so I could get it set up asap)
Additionally, I think the install instructions could have been written a bit better. As it was, it had me hang the chain and mark the wall, but this resulted in me mounting the unit too low and I couldn't click it into place in the bracket. I think it's better if you attach the chain to the unit, then make the chain taut and then figure out where the bracket needs to be on the wall for that
Also, a lot of the instructions assume you have a smartbridge, which I opted not to purchase. I'm perfectly happy to use the features available just over bluetooth, but I wish the delineation were a lot more clear. For example, it's never explicitly spelled out whether multiple people can bluetooth pair their phones to the device at once.
I am writing to report a defect with the right-side unit of my motorized shade system. Since installation, the device has exhibited persistent and escalating malfunctions: it initially refused calibration, then calibrated erratically without consistent results; it changes direction without input; it fails to stop at preset positions; and it fully unravels the shade beyond its set limits. These issues are not attributable to user error or installation, as the left-side unit operates correctly under identical conditions and settings.
The pattern of failures strongly suggests the right-side unit is defective and requires replacement, not troubleshooting.
I submitted a formal complaint on Saturday and have not received any response. I am requesting an immediate follow-up, a clear timeline for resolution, and confirmation that a replacement unit will be provided. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.
I installed 5 RYSE units. Two wired & 3 non-wired. I am pleased with the product overall. They work as advertised. Installation was a challenge for some shades. Need to adapt mounting to each location. With my heavier shades, the beaded chain was snagging on the sprocket wheel when the connector clip passed though it. The bead clips in the accessory kit are not strong enough. Customer support is good and is helping me resolve the issue. Calibration sequence for top and bottom stops is clearly presented in a video tutorial using the RYSE app. I do find the app glitchy at times. Example, grouped shades do not always operate together. Need to re-group them from time to time. Have an hub on order to add routines and voice control. Otherwise a great product. Far less $$ than we spent on motorized shades from Hunter Douglas. Would recommend.
Easy installation as advertised, smooth & quiet operation! I bought the Wyse Bridge so we can put it on a schedule to block the sun (especially in the summer) from our west facing room that overheats our living room.
I bought some of the first units they had 8 or 9 years ago under the axis app and they still work great. I have been adding some blind motors to some other windows recently that didnt have anything in them. They always work well, I have them hooked up with Alexa to close them by voice if needed. I use the scheduling part on the app to have them open and close at certain times I really like them, I recommend them.
